Award : Framaco International is awarded the contract for the Renovation and New Construction of the United States Embassy in Manila, The Philippines.
The Chancery, located on the U.S. Government-owned Embassy Compound in Manila was built on filled land in the late 1930s.
The $136 Million project consists of overall Demolition, new Construction and Renovation encompassing 175,000 Sq.ft; scope is replacing two new office wings; renovating the historic central section to remain; enclosing the open-air courtyard in the central section with a new skylight; also includes: construction of a new entrance plaza to the east of the Chancery; construction of a new terrace on the west facing Manila Bay; The new north and south wings include an exterior curtain wall system.
The Chancery, as the center of U.S. diplomatic mission in the Philippines, will remain fully and continuously operational during construction.
